Time for Witnessing:

Thursday Evening [7:00-8:00] during daylight saving time, and Saturday Morning [11:00-12:00] during standard time. This will eliminate knocking on doors during the dark evening hours and provides continuity for your outreach ministry.

Preparation for Witnessing during Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting:

1. Recruit those who will be going witnessing and pray for them during prayer time by asking for a show of hands of those who will be able to definitely come out at the appointed time. Make an audible count of those who raise their hands, and announce a final number. This will provide the Leader/Pastor with the number for his preparation of materials and also emphasize accountability to those who volunteered.
   
2. Recruit the Prayer Team for Thursday Evening and divide the [7:00-8:00] time into equal prayer periods. The time will depend on how many volunteer for Thursday Evening Prayer Team. Give out the names to prayer teams on Wed Eve. of those you will be witnessing to on Thur. Eve.so that the Prayer Team can pray for them by name.
   
3. Be sure to give opportunity to the Soulwinners who were out witnessing last week to testify of their experiences from the previous week. Speak to the previous week's Soulwinners before the service encouraging them to share their experiences from the past week.
   
4. Include a measure of accountability when calling for testimonies from the Soulwinners and encourage those to come out who could be silent partners. Also husband/wife teams, father/son/daughter are encouraged to participate and will make great Soulwinning teams.
   
5. For effective door to door witnessing, knowing the location/directions to homes and the names of the people at the homes you are visiting will help the soulwinning team greatly. You can do this by paying for a list of new move-ins in your zip code. Maps can be printed of the specific area, street, number at yahoo.com under the SEARCH box click on 'Maps'. Most all search engines will have a link to provide maps, not just Yahoo. Using the printed maps will expedite the visiting effort by supplying names, addresses, and directions in one specific area. If using a list for new move-ins, request that those who move within your zip code not be included in your list as these names would be repetitious and not newcomers to the area.
   
6. Utilize an accurate record keeping system by using 3x5 or 4x6 or our cards containing the name, address and any pertinent information gained from the visit such as the names of the Soulwinners and the date the visit was made and the results: saved, unsaved, church, responses to questions etc. This information can be used to determine if a revisit is necessary by the Pastor/Leader at a later time. Cards and maps must be returned to the Pastor/Leader ASAP and kept in files for revisits.

8. The recommended sequence for using the files/info provided:
   1. "Reasons" is an outline of a message which is the first to be presented to your people w/appropriate invitation.
   2. "Facts" is an outline of a message which is the second to be presented to your people w/appropriate invitation.
   3. "Prayer" provides a list of Soulwinning Opportunities and Biblical instruction on how to pray. This information can be presented along with the second message or used as a third message w/appropriate invitation.
   4. "Plan" provides an actual dialogue for witnessing house to house utilizing the survey/question method and can be modified to be used with a 'New Move-in Introduction' or simply 'We are visiting your area Introduction'.
   5. "Records" is the file used to print out visit record cards on card stock for each person/home you have visited. These cards must be filled out ahead of time by the Soulwinning Leader if the addresses or names are known before hand.

Key: The primary motive for Soulwinning/Witnessing is your love for Jesus! If you have lost/left your love for Him, and are motivated only by other pressures from without, you are first of all living in sin for your lack of love for Him, and secondly you will not have the power of the Holy Spirit to be an effective witness. The cure, of course, is full, from-the-heart-confession, repentance and re-establishment of communion/abiding in Him.

Remember, the reason for Soulwinning/Witnessing must be your love for Him, because circumstances, people and churches may change and could cause you to quit in discouragement and disappointment! But, Jesus will never change! He will never discourage or disappoint anyone, especially the saint who is set upon fulfilling their primary purpose for being here, which is witnessing to and winning 'Souls for Jesus'!!
