The Day of the Lord is a very significant time in God's program for the End Times. It is His time of unparalleled judgment on Israel and unbelieving Gentiles as described in numerous Old Testament passages (Joel 1:15; 2:1-11; Zeph 1:14-18; 2:1-15; 3:8) The Day of the Lord is also important to the Believer for it is directly linked to the Rapture of the Church. The Bible teaches that the Day of the Lord begins the same day that the Rapture occurs. The same way God delivered Noah and Lot just prior to His judgment, so will He also deliver the Church from His wrath and judgment by rapture the same day the Day of the Lord begins. (Luke 17:22-36; I Thess. 5:9; II Pet. 2:4-10; Rev. 3:10).

The Day of the Lord is preceded by at least six specific things:

1. Awareness of the Believer( I Thess 5:1-10)
2. Falling Away (II Thess.2:1-3)
3. Man of Sin Revealed (II Thess.2:1-10)
4. Sending of Elijah (Mal. 4:5)
5. Heavenly Wonders (Joel 2:30,31)
6. Last Trump (Joel 2:1; Zeph. 1:14-18)

The Last Trump is also vitally connected to the Rapture " Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment in the twinkling of an eye, at The Last Trump, for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." ( I Cor 15:51,52 )
